Overview of MCX Products - Commodity Derivatives Exchange of India


General
The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) is India's prominent and largest commodity derivative exchange. It provides facilities of online trading of commodity derivatives transactions.


According to study report of Futures Industry Association, 2024 MCX IS world’s sixth largest Exchange in terms of number of commodity derivative contracts traded.
The clients may use the online platform of MCX for price discovery and risk management. The Exchange started in 2003 functioning under the regulatory framework of Securities and Exchange Board of India.
The MCX provides trading in the following commodity derivative segments:-

MCX iCOMDEX
It consists of a composite index constituting futures contracts across different commodity segments. Such futures contracts are 
(1)   two sectoral indices (Bullion Index and
       Base Metals Index) and 
(2)  four Single Commodity Indices (Gold Index, Silver Index, Copper Index and Crude Oil Index).
