According to the new executive order signed by U.S President Donald Trump the U.S imposed a new anual fee of 100000 dollars on H-1B Visa holders. The new order empowers the administration to ask companies to pay 100000 dollars per year for H-1B category work Visa. This U.S move will make immediate negative impact on Techie labour force from other countries including skilled workforce from India and China. The new executive order will impact U.S also because by limiting H-1B Visa the U.S stops to attract talented and qualified from other countries, it may reduce to discover new product and services needed for the economic growth. The new executive order will impact foreign STEM workforce majorly. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics workers. In between 2000 and 2019 the number of STEM employees have been increased to nearly 2.5 million.
Impact on Indian techie
As per government data India was the largest beneficiary of H-1B visas in the year 2024 and it was accounted for nearly 71% H-1B visa beneficiaries in the year. Legal immigration for temporary employment by using H-1B Visa may be limited in the light of new Trump executive order.
