The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased in USA.

As per the report released on December 11,2024 by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics the (CPI-U) increased 0.3 percent in November 2024 on a seasonally adjusted basis. This increase is made after rising 0.2 percent in each of the previous four months.It was reported that US Consumer Price rose 2.7 % annually in line with expectation.

The index for shelter rose 0.3% in November.The food index also increased over the month, rising 0.4 % as the food at home index increased 0.5 %and the food away from home index rose 0.3 %. The energy index rose 0.2 %.The index for all items less food and energy rose 0.3%. Indexes that increased in November include shelter, used cars and trucks, household furnishings and operations, medical care, new vehicles, and recreation.But the index for communication  decreased over the month of November.The all items index rose 2.7 % for the 12 months ending November, after rising 2.6 %  over the 12 months ending October. The all items less food and energy index rose 3.3 %  over the last 12 months. The energy index decreased 3.2 % for the 12 months ending November. The food index increased 2.4 percent over the last year.The Global markets are waiting for the decision of Federal Reserve on rate cut at the coming December 17-18 meeting in the light of increased CPI data reported.
