Business leadership style in Poland -Authoritarian style create pressure and stress on business executives of younger generations.

A hierarchically oriented path and continuously chase up progress is significant feature of Poland business administration. Poland business fraternity generally expects such an approach from business executives in their decision making.

In order to prevent conflict in business administration many Polish companies still follow hierarchically oriented organizational structure based on former bureaucratized socialist system. Thus an authoritarian style of leadership with deep and steep hierarchy became part of business circle or corporate structure of Poland.

A deep and steep hierarchical method of business administration with authoritarian approach is not suitable for advanced world. Therefore an advanced society gives more importance to participatory decision making in every field including in the area of business administration. Therefore a new business model of participatory management is visible among the younger generation in business. The presence of authoritarian and participatory approach towards business administration in Poland have created a gap between the managers of the older and younger generations.

Problems and mistakes are very common in business circle. For instance employees of carmaker company Volkswagen across Germany started warning strike on December 2,2024 and stopped manufacturing in the light of failed negotiations between the company and unions. Now workers there face the possibility of mass lay off  and wage cuts citing slugging car demand, rising labor expenses, shortage of raw materials and delays in the shift to electric vehicles.

Therefore an opportunity to communicate such problems and mistakes for proper remedy is desirable. In many circumstances business problems including business related problems and mistakes of executives were not communicated to the higher management levels. Such non-communication have resulted in sanctions in many companies. No new business approach can give complete solution to such problems and mistakes. However, an employer employee participated approach in corporate field in business related matters gives room for healthy discussions and deliberations. Therefore a blended approach having  good features of hierarchical system of business administration and participatory approach is more feasible to business fraternity in Poland.

Leadership style of managers belonging to older generations adopted authoritarian approach towards business administration by not giving any decision making power to their juniors. Resultantly many business decisions were put on hold due to absence of such managers. So in older system the boss alone was the authority, therefore employees cannot and do not want to take part in the decision making process.Such situation is vesting the whole responsibility with the boss or master.

A transformation of business fraternity is need of the Poland. As part of this many of executives have changed jobs various times to achieve advancement and earning opportunities. In order to create and maintain a business space for Poland in the world of free economy and free labour market concerned authorities must give due weightage to needs of young generations.Executives belonging to new generation is accustomed to working independently and want to take part in decision making process as part of their career advancement. Executives from younger generation prefers leadership style supporting their business ambitions. Therefore business executive from younger generation prefers a participative style of leadership. They want to share business matters with team members. When compared to authoritarian style of leaders, executives from young generation want to work as a team and task oriented. They also want to take responsibilty. They want to join career advancement courses and take part in seminars and workshops for maintaining a work life balance.
