President Donald Trump imposed travel ban on citizens from 12 countries.


Trump administration in USA banned entry of citizens from 12 countries to the United States to protect the US from foreign terrorist s and other national security and public safety threats. The Supreme Court of US upheld the President's authority to use section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act to protect the US through entry restrictions.

The White House sees nationals from Afganistan, Burma,Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea,Eritrea,Haiti,Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen pose a very high risks to the US. accordingly Trump administration fully restricted and limited the entry of nationals from the above 12 countries. Besides the administration partially restricted the entry of nationals from Barundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone,Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela on the same reason.

However, permanent residents, existing visa holders, certain visa categories and individuals whose entry serves the US national interest are exempted from the entry restrictions.
